Ride into the sunset – ke alaula (the flaming road) literally starting at our eastern gate facing the westernmost ridge in pursuit of the setting sun. Your Paniolo wrangler is a “keiki o ka aina” (child of the land) with intimate knowledge of Ka’u, Na’alehu, and Kahilipali (our ahupua’a – designated land boundaries), with the heart of the Hawaiian Paniolo.
Your horse, a veteran working animal has been selected for multitasking recreational rides with you in mind and knows the way of cattle and men. Trot, canter, or leisurely walk (according to your own skills levels) to viewing stations, along panoramic ridgelines, untracked open fields or well-trodden cane roads and pig trails.
1.5 Hour, Imiloa Explorer ($ 95 adults/$ 80 Child – under 12) – Weekends and Holidays, 9:00 a.m., 11:00, and 2:00 p.m. (minimum 2 riders)
Wander in purposeless bliss; let your inner free spirit soar as you canter, trot, even gallop (depending on your skills level) through open meadows and untracked pastureland. Incorporating strategically placed viewing stations and panoramic vista trails, this program allows you to ride freely giving your horse the leeway to see if the grass really is greener there, on the next hill, across the pasture, or up on the bluff.
Private Ho’oponopono with Nature programs are available for customized rides of four or more parties ranging from two to four hours with or without picnic meals – regretfully, all riders/horses must return before dark.
